He was asked to accept a commission—from Fred Turner (VI '57)—to use them to create a line-art rendition of 'our' VI building. It was to be presented at the 50th Reunion of the Class of 1957.
During the reunion the professionally framed original was put on display by Barbara Shickle Nowak (VI '57). At the Saturday banquet the original was awarded to John Smith (VI- k to 12) — via a random drawing. Prior to framing, a professional art reproduction studio made a limited print-run. The artist then proofed, numbered and signed a Limited Edition of 250. There are no plans to ever do a second edition. The prints were available during the reunion and many asked classmates to sign them — as a keepsake of their 50th Reunion. The last of the numbered and signed prints were donated to the Class of 1954 for their 55th reunion. On December 19, 2009, Charles Chupp left us to always drink coffee with who he referred to as The Boss. His VI rendition is the last artwork he ever did.
