40^th Reunion

About Us

We are the baby boom generation. Growing up in Albany, Loudonville, Bethlehem, Delmar, Guilderland and other neighboring towns in the 1950s and 1960s we lived a life of promise secured by our parents in the Great Depression and World War II. In grade school we learned how to “duck and cover”. Most of us remember having our 8^th grade classes interrupted on November 22, 1963 to learn of the shooting of JFK. High school was a time of innocent adolescence – Sisters of Mercy, Brothers of the Holy Cross, shells in the cafeteria, school activities (Steno Chatter, Blue Banner, Glee Club, Orchestra, Crossroads, etc.), retreats, athletics, canteens, derby day, short hair (boys), long skirts (girls)…….mixed with the stirrings of the world outside - civil rights marches/riots, LBJ, RFK, Vietnam.

Many of us left VI in June 1968 for college, others to start careers and families. By the summer of 1969 a few of us were experiencing Vietnam first hand while many more were at Woodstock. By 1970 our world had changed profoundly, even more so a few years later in the turbulence of Nixon and Watergate. Since then we have experienced all that life has to offer. Now 40 years on it is time to share those memories of a different time and where life has taken us.

Reunion Schedule & Invitation (Updated 7/10/08)

Check here to see details about the Reunion Weekend. The date is set for the weekend of September 12-14, 2008. A formal invitation was mailed out to all of the class on July 1^st. Those who only have email addresses available to the Reunion Committee, or classmates who have not received previous mailings and have found this website, please look at the Invitation posted on the website for the reunion details and registration forms. You can print out the forms and send them in. If you would like a printed invitation, send an email to VI 1968 Reunion and we will send one out. Don’t forget to fill out your 2008 Yearbook submission. Whether attending or not, all classmates will receive a copy and have a chance to learn about where life has taken each of us over these 40 years!
